Harold Green III

Primarily a poet, Harold Green III is an ever-evolving artist with a skill set that defies categorization. His vibrant storytelling and passionate lyrical delivery continue to captivate audiences both domestically and internationally.

In the media, Green III has appeared in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, The Ellen DeGeneres Show Blog, Ebony Web, Black America Web (Tom Joyner/Reach Media), Windy City Live, and Black Enterprise Web. He was a featured artist at the Chicago Mayoral Inauguration, has appeared on TEDx, and has done work with major brands such as, Nike, Lululemon, and Jordan, and has fostered partnerships with Google, Chicago Public Schools, and the Chicago Transit Authority. 

He is the creator of numerous recorded albums, videos, plays and, above all else, artist platforms. He has hosted popular open mic events and performed at festivals, rallies and colleges across the country for almost a decade and a half, consistently. He is a proud son, brother, husband, father, teacher, coach and mentor. He is a visionary, leader, motivator and an overwhelmingly undeniable human being.

Harold’s debut projects, a duo of volumes titled BLACK ROSES: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Women and BLACK OAK: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Men (HarperDesign), feature tributes to Black celebrities who are making history today, accompanied by illustrations by Melissa Koby.

His innovative children’s book publishing program with Running Press Kids includes the board Sunday Adventures board book series, The Numbers Store and The Rainbow Park, which introduces early childhood concepts through the experiences of a multigenerational Black family; Love Bubble, a picture book about the protection and adoration a child feels in their community; and Words Are My Superpower, a middle grade nonfiction book about the power of language.
