Charlotte Offsay

Charlotte Offsay was born in England, grew up in Boston, and currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two small children. Born into a family with a love of travel and adventure, Charlotte enjoys exploring new places and cultures. She is a former corporate finance client specialist who now spends her days caring for her family, volunteering in her local community, traveling, and using her experiences to fuel her true passion: writing. Through her work, Charlotte hopes to make children laugh, to inspire curiosity, and to create a magical world her readers can lose themselves in time and time again. She is an active SCBWI, 12×12, and Inked Voices member.

Charlotte’s debut picture book, The Big Beach Cleanup, illustrated by Kate Rewse (Albert Whitman), followed by How to Return a Monster, illustrated by Rea Zhai (Beaming Books) both released in 2021. A Grandma’s Magic, illustrated by Asa Gilland followed (Doubleday Books for Young Readers, 2022), as did Challah Day, illustrated by Jason Kirschner (Holiday House, 2023).

More picture books are coming in 2024: The Quiet Forest, illustrated by Abi Cushman, is coming in spring (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books), and Eight Sweet Nights, A Festival of Lights, illustrated by Menahem Alberstadt (Doubleday Books for Young Readers) will light up the holiday season.

Meanwhile, Charlotte is growing her bookstagrammer profile—don’t miss picturebookrecommendations on Instagram—or visit her on her website at http://www.charlotteoffsay.com and follow her on Twitter @COffsay.
