Recent Work

Charlotte Offsay

Charlotte Offsay made her debut as a picture book author in 2021 when both The Big Beach Cleanup, illustrated by Kate Rewse (Albert Whitman), and How to Return a Monster, illustrated by Rea Zhai (Beaming Books), released the same year. A Grandma’s Magic, illustrated by Asa Gilland followed (Doubleday Books for Young Readers, 2022), as did Challah Day!, illustrated by Jason Kirschner (Holiday House, 2023).

The Quiet Forest, illustrated by Abi Cushman (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books, 2024), was the first entry in the Quiet series. And Eight Sweet Nights, A Festival of Lights, illustrated by Menahem Alberstadt (Doubleday Books for Young Readers, 2024) lit up the holiday season that year as well. Matzah Day!, companion to Challah Day! as well as a PJ Library selection, followed in 2025.

More picture books are coming! In 2026, The Quiet Ocean, companion to The Quiet Forest, will launch from Simon and Schuster/Beach Lane, and in 2027, Not a Walk featuring illustrations by Rotem Teplow will be Charlotte’s first released by Rocky Pond, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Charlotte was born in England, grew up in Boston, and currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. Through her work, Charlotte hopes to make children laugh, to inspire curiosity, and to create a magical world her readers can lose themselves in time and time again.

Meanwhile, Charlotte is growing her bookstagrammer profile—don’t miss picturebookrecommendations on Instagram—or visit her on her website at http://www.charlotteoffsay.com.
