We look forward to reviewing your work.  Please review our submission requirements so that we may review your material promptly.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for a reply.

We regret that we do not represent genre fiction (science fiction, fantasy, westerns, historical fiction, crime fiction, horror, mystery, thrillers, detective novels, category romance), poetry, or screenplays

For nonfiction, please be sure to have a completed nonfiction proposal. If you’re not familiar with nonfiction proposals, Michael Larsen’s How To Write a Book Proposal is a great resource.

Save yourself time with our Proposal Cheat Sheet, a checklist of crucial items for any nonfiction book proposal!

For fiction and narrative nonfiction, consider reading Renni Browne and Dave King’s Self Editing for Fiction Writers prior to submission. A slim paperback volume, this is an indispensable resource for writers at any stage of their careers.

RESPONSE TIME:
Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for response.

We will notify you if we are interested in representing your project as promptly as possible. However, unfortunately we cannot respond personally to every query and submission we receive. If we do accept your work for representation, we will contact you to discuss the terms of our representation.


ATTACHMENTS:
We do not accept attachments in initial queries. Please send attachments per request only.

SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope): If you choose to enclose a SASE for response, please know that we are only able to return envelopes/packages weighing 12 oz or less and containing exact postage.

It is our office environmental policy to recycle submission materials whenever possible. Materials submitted without SASE or sufficient postage may be recycled.

We charge a standard commission on sales. We do not charge a reading fee.
