Sarah Hunter Murray

Dr. Sarah Hunter Murray is a leading researcher on sexual desire, having dedicated over a decade of her academic and professional career to understanding the complexities and nuances of this topic. As one of the first in the field to challenge assumptions about men’s desire by talking to men directly, she is now a sex expert for various news and media outlets including Psychology Today where she writes a blog series entitled “Myths of Desire: Rethinking Sex Roles and Expectations that Stifle Relationships.”

Dr. Murray’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed academic journals (e.g., Journal of Sex Research, Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, Sex Roles) and featured in mainstream media such as LiveScience Mic.com and The Globe and Mail. She is also regularly interviewed about sex and intimacy for news outlets such as Men’s Health, Fashion Magazine and Today’s Parent.

Dr. Murray is a relationship therapist under the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She works with individuals and couples experiencing sexuality and intimacy issues in her prairie hometown of Winnipeg, Canada.

When she’s not researching, talking or writing about sex, Sarah is happiest with her nose in a good book, her lips sipping from a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and her feet dangling off the dock at her family cottage in Minaki.
